Constructions Layouts and As-Built Surveys
What is a As-Built Survey?
Construction Layouts are the “laying out” (so to speak), of the corners and other elements of buildings, roads, pipelines, bridges, and other structures for construction. This highly mathematical work typically involves the transfer of those elements shown on the plans made by other professionals such as engineers and architects, to points on the ground. This often includes both horizontal and vertical layout for the contractor.
As-Built Surveys locate existing improvements on the ground, typically including structures, road elements, and landscape features, for use in project design or for post construction comparison to pre-construction design plans. These are typically requested or required by engineers, architects, and state and local government agencies and boards. see also Subdivisions and Site Plans
